In April 25 grade 9 and 10 Arts students headed to Montreal
under the supervision of Mrs. Facchini, Mr. Klobucar and Ms. Brockest. The trip provided students with the
opportunity to experience Art and
Culture in Montreal. Students
participated in a guided tour of the Montreal Museum of Fine art, where they
were able to see glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly, drawings from Gainsborough
to Moore along with several Canadian collections and works from the Masters. In the evening students went to a theatrical
production, Triplex Nervosa at the Centaur theatre in Old Montreal. Students had the amazing experience of
visiting St. Joseph's Oratory in the early evening and attending mass at Notre
Dame Cathedral. They toured the Bio Dome
and Olympic Tower from the 1976 Olympic Games and enjoyed walking tours of Old
Montreal and St. Catherine's Street. The highlight for some of the boys would have
to include meeting Steve Stamkos from Tampa Bay Lighting while at a local
coffee shop. We had a wonderful time and
are looking forward to next year's excursion!
