Grade 11 Photo Trip- October 2012

The Grade 11 Photo trip begins at 8:00am sharp; our bus immediately departs to Toronto.  Our first stop is the Evergreen Brickworks, which was one of Toronto’s oldest brick quarries and has now be restored as one of Toronto’s green facilities.  The students have an opportunity to learn about green initiatives around the world along with photographing the old quarry rails and the preserved green space.

Following our visit to the Brickworks we stop at the Distillery District where the students visit the galleries of several local artists and as well as work on photographing their urban landscapes and environmental portraits.  By around 1:00 we make a stop for lunch and then head over to Allan Gardens, Toronto’s indoor green house where the student are able to photograph a wide range of tropical plants.

We then walk off our lunches as we stroll to the Art Gallery of Ontario, where the students are able to view the photographic collections of a variety of world renowned photographers before heading up to the contemporary Art collection.  By 5:00 the students make their last stop at the Village Grange food court for a quick bite before heading home.
